21-Pin Male Plug Connector kit for use with SCART (EuroSCART) or JP21 (Japan RGB 21-Pin) cables.
Optional Retro Access exclusive custom-designed Printed Circuit Board (PCB) for DIY cables. The Sync Stripper option features an integrated LM1881 circuit for clean, reliable, pure CSync.
This is for destination cables only into a switch, display or upscaler, not for use as a SCART source.
SCART PCB Installation Instructions:
- The strain relief fits up to 7-8mm OD cable, and will require drilling and deburring for use with Mini-Coax.
- Slide the strain relief over the cable jacket.
- Verify orientation and solder the PCB to the SCART connector.
- Solder Red, Green, Blue conductors to R, G, B pads.
- Solder Sync, Left Audio, Right Audio conductors to S, LA, RA pads.
- Solder 5V conductor to the round VIN pad.
- Solder grounds to square ground pads.
- Sync Stripper Only: For TTL (5V) sync, bridge jumper JP202. Use caution as closing this jumper violates SCART specifications and may damage consumer grade equipment.
- Install the SCART shield, use glue for jacket strain relief and assemble the housing.
JP21 PCB Installation Instructions:
- The strain relief fits up to 7-8mm OD cable, and will require drilling and deburring for use with Mini-Coax.
- Slide the strain relief over the cable jacket.
- Verify orientation and solder the PCB to the SCART connector.
- Solder Red, Green, Blue conductors to R, G, B pads.
- Solder Sync, Left Audio, Right Audio conductors to S, L, R pads.
- Solder 5V conductor to the round +V pad.
- Solder grounds to large unlabeled ground pads.
- Install included thru-hole resistor, solder in place and clip legs.
- Install the SCART shield, use glue for jacket strain relief and assemble the housing.
