The Genesis Model 1 features a larger, full-size DIN 8 “U” 262° port, while the Genesis Model 2 uses a smaller, Mini-DIN 9 port. You can learn more about different DIN styles in the Retro Access Knowledge Center.

Because of the different ports, Genesis Model 2 cables are more prevalent while Genesis Model 1 can be harder to find. For example, the HDRetrovision series of YPbPr component cables. Retro Access has developed the Genesis Bridge to solve this issue.

Simply plug the Genesis Bridge into your Genesis Model 1 or Sega Master System, and it converts the AV output to Mini-DIN 9 for convenient use with any Genesis Model 2 type cable. The adapter is a clean pass-through, introducing zero processing and zero lag.
