Retro Access exclusive custom-designed Housing (Hood) and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) for DIY cables. Unlike conventional designs which place components downstream at the SCART end, Retro Access boards place key signal components right at the source (console). This ensures superior signal integrity for the clearest, most accurate audio-visual experience. This kit includes all necessary circuit components pre-mounted for safe and specification compliant RGB video while aiding in clean, simplified assembly versus struggling with loose components.
This kit features a true DB-23 connector, it is not a trimmed 25 pin.
Compatible with the Commodore or Escom Amiga.
Installation:
- Using the housing (hood) as a fixture, align pads to pins and solder the board directly to the connector.
- Remove the assembly from the housing and solder the reverse side.
- Solder Red, Green, Blue conductors to R, G, B pads.
- Solder Sync, Left Audio, Right Audio conductors to S, LA, RA pads.
- Solder Power (VDC) conductor to the 5V pad. For SCART applications, wire 5V to pin 8 (Function Switch) and use a 180 ohm resistor between SCART pin 8 and 16 (Blanking).
- Solder video grounds to square ground pads.
- Cut 2-RCA audio whip to desired length.
- Solder audio grounds from both the 2-RCA audio whip and the main cable to the “AUD” ground pad.
- Solder 2-RCA audio whip to round RA, LA pads.
- Optional: Solder the included 100 ohm resistor between pin 15 and 16 to disable Genlock.
- For TTL (5V) sync, such as BNC or HD15 applications, bridge jumper “TTL”. Do not bridge this jumper for SCART applications unless installing an attenuating resistor in the SCART end.
- Use compression assembly and glue for jacket strain relief and assemble the housing.

Features:
- Genuine Kemet premium 220 µF Tantalum AC coupling capacitors within the console connector provide clean, precise RGBS signals at the source, preventing unwanted DC bias along the cable, preserving accurate color, contrast and brightness.
