The Japanese Sega Master System, also known as the “MK-2000” uses a different AV cable than all other regions such as NTSC-U, PAL and SECAM. This is because the MK-2000 includes necessary components (series resistors and AC coupling capacitors) within the console itself. Using a standard Sega Master System or Genesis Model 1 cable on an MK-2000 will produce a dimmer picture.
