Retro Access has introduced a unique RGB SCART cable designed specifically for the Sega Genesis 3, addressing the console’s unusual and frustrating AV port placement.

Unlike earlier Genesis models, the Model 3 places its Mini-DIN 9 output on the left side of the console. This new cable features a 90 degree “left-turn in” connector, allowing the cable to route neatly toward the back instead of sticking out the side.

Built using Retro Access exclusive Fortraflex ultra-flexible fully shielded cable, the design combines clean routing with high-quality analog video performance. Internally, series termination resistors impedance match the RGB signals at the source, while 220 µF tantalum coupling capacitors provide stable RGBS output and prevent unwanted DC bias along the cable.

The cable outputs properly attenuated Composite Sync (CSync) for safe 75 ohm operation and works with upscalers like the RetroTINK-5X Pro and Open Source Scan Converter.

Because the Genesis Model 3 outputs mono audio, the cable duplicates the signal to both left and right channels by default, with a stereo option available for modified consoles.
