Updated connector housings (hoods) are now in production for cables used with the Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, and Sega Dreamcast, bringing improved durability and a more robust design.
The all new Genesis Model 2 and Saturn housings feature a shell-style design that provides a more solid, secure, built-to-last connector assembly while maintaining the clean look expected of Retro Access. This replaces the cylindrical design previously used on Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) Model 2 (Mini-DIN 9) and Sega Saturn (Mini-DIN 10).

Dreamcast cables have also received a minor revision, with mode select now integrated directly to the housing. These professional-grade cables support both 480i (15 kHz interlaced) and 480p (31 kHz progressive scan) video modes, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of displays and video processors.

RGB cables for Sega systems are available in both 75 ohm Mini-Coaxial (Mini-Coax) and Fortraflex.
It’s a meaningful upgrade aimed at improving the durability and performance of Retro Access high-quality analog video cables.
